Qualification and Experience:

• A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Apparel Design and Management or any related field.

Duties:

1. To set up equipment for practicals and assist in the running of practicals, lectures and seminars;
2. To assist students in their research projects with proper experimental methods and actual experiments;
3. To provide technical assistance to staff and students on their research work;
4. To carry out minor repairs and fault finding on equipment;
5. To refer major repairs to maintenance engineers from equipment suppliers/agents;
6. To keep the Laboratories storerooms clean and well maintained;
7. To keep inventory of equipment, instruments, chemicals and ingredients;
8. To prepare requisitions for acquiring Departmental supplies;
9. To assist the Department in the choice of new types of equipment, methods modifications for existing equipment, servicing and related management activities;
10. To prepare and photocopy laboratory manuals; and
11. To carry out any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Other Attributes:

• Good communication skills in English.
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills.

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates Only
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance and other benefits.
