Qualification and Experience:

 

• A Bachelor of Science (BSc) with majors in Chemistry and any other subject area or any relevant qualification.

Duties:

1. To prepare for and assist in the running of Undergraduate and Postgraduate practicals;
2. To provide technical assistance to staff and students on their research work;
3. To carry out minor repairs and fault finding on equipment;
4. To refer major repairs to maintenance engineers from equipment suppliers/agents;
5. To keep the Laboratories storerooms clean and well maintained;
6. To keep inventory of equipment, instruments, supplies, etc.;
7. To prepare requisitions for acquiring departmental supplies;
8. To assist the Department in the choice of new types of equipment, methods modifications for existing equipment, servicing and related management activities;
9. To prepare and photocopy laboratory manuals; and
10. To carry out any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

• Good interpersonal and leadership skills.

Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of twelve (12) months probationary period; Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.
