Qualification and Experience:

• At least an MSc in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• A PhD in Electrical Engineering for the Senior Lecturer rank.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering teaching tools/software and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
• Extensive research as attested by publications.
• Must already be at the rank applying for.
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.

Duties:

1. To teach Undergraduate Electrical Engineering courses including but not limited to:

– Electrical Machines;

– Power Systems;

– Electrical Power Systems; and

– Power Electronics.

2. To supervise Undergraduate student’s research projects;
3. To conduct research in the discipline;
4. To engage in Community Service;
5. To develop and maintain links with industry;
6. To undertake Consultancy Assignments as and when necessary; and
7. To perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates

Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.

Expatriate Candidates

Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
