Qualification and Experience:

• A PhD in Consumer Science Education.
OR
• PhD in Education/Curriculum/Psychology with MSc in Consumer Science Education.

Duties:

1.To teach courses in Consumer Science including but not limited to;
– Foundations of Vocational and Technical Education in Consumer Sciences;
– Curriculum Theory and Planning;
– Educational Research Methods;
– Instructional Materials and Educational Technology; and
– School Administration and Finance Management.
2. To supervise and mentor Postgraduate and Undergraduate students, guiding
them in their research theses/ projects and facilitating their academic growth;
3. To supervise Field Attachment and Teaching Practice;
4. To conduct research in the discipline and collaborate with Colleagues to
contribute to interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives;
5. To undertake Administrative duties as may be assigned by the Head of
Department;
6. To undertake Consultancy Assignments; and
7. To engage in Community Outreach activities.

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance and other benefits.

Expatriate Candidates
Initial Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, relocation expenses and other benefits.
