Qualification and Experience:

• A PhD in Agricultural Education or closely related area for the rank of Senior Lecturer and above.
• At least a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education or closely related area for the Lecturer rank.
• University or College Teaching experience for the rank of Senior Lecturer and above.

Duties:

1. To teach courses in Agricultural Education including but not limited to:

– Curriculum Theory and Innovation;

– Seminar;

– Theory and Practice of Counsel;

– Proposal writing for Agricultural Grantsmanship;

– Philosophical foundation of Agricultural Education;

– Monitoring and Evaluation of Agricultural Projects; and

– Teaching Agriculture in Higher Education.

2. To supervise students’ research, entrepreneurship projects and teaching  practice;

3. To conduct research in the discipline;

4. To engage in Community Service;
5.  To undertake Consultancy Assignments as and when necessary; and
6.  To perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

 

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates

Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.

Expatriate Candidates

Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
