Qualification and Experience:

• A PhD in Geomorphology, Geology, Earth System Sciences or related
field.
• Demonstrated commitment to field-based, experiential learning and
innovative Undergraduate and Postgraduate education.
• Demonstrated excellence in conducting and publishing high-quality
academic research and track record of scholarly publications in
reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Active participation in national and international Conferences,
Seminars and Workshops
• Successful grant applications or research funding acquisition.
• Experience in supervising and mentoring research students or junior
researchers.
• Strong research ethics and commitment to academic integrity.

Duties:

1. To develop and deliver high-quality Lectures, Tutorials and
Practical sessions in Geomorphology at Postgraduate and
Undergraduate levels;
2. To supervise and mentor students , guiding them in their research
projects/theses and facilitating their academic and personal
growth;
3. To conduct cutting-edge research in the field of Geomorphology.
Publish scholarly articles in reputable journals and actively seek
external research funding;
4. To provide academic leadership within the department and
contribute to curriculum development, course design and programme
enhancement;
5. To collaborate with Colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary
research projects and initiatives;
6. To serve on Departmental and University Committees, participate in
academic decision-making processes and contribute to the overall
development of the University as assigned by the Head of
Department;
7. To undertake Consultancy Assignments; and
8. To engage in Community Outreach activities, fostering
collaborations with local organisations and promoting the
importance of Geomorphology in Eswatini.

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance and other benefits.

Expatriate Candidates
Initial Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, relocation expenses and other benefits.
