Qualification and Experience:

• A PhD in English Literature/ Literature in English.
• At least five (5) years teaching experience at University level.
• Extensive research as attested by publications in reputable
journals.
• Experience in leadership roles at Department and Faculty levels.
• Knowledge and experience in implementing quality assurance
requirements.

Duties:

1.To develop and teach courses in English Language and Literature and
Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels;
2.To supervise and mentor Undergraduate students, guiding them in their
research theses/ projects and facilitating their academic growth;
3.To participate in the development and enhancement of the English
Literature/Literature in English curricula;
4. To provide leadership in the Department and Faculty;
5.To conduct research in the discipline and collaborate with Colleagues
to contribute to interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives;
6.To undertake Administrative duties as may be assigned by the Head of
Department;
7.To undertake Consultancy Assignments; and
8.To engage in Community Outreach activities.

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance and other benefits.

Expatriate Candidates
Initial Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, relocation expenses and other benefits.
