Qualification and Experience:
• A PhD in Urban/Town and Regional Planning and Development Studies or related field.
• Vast experience on the Planning Laws and Regulations of the region, particularly Eswatini.
• At least five (5) years teaching experience at tertiary level.
1. To develop and deliver high-quality Lectures, Tutorials and
Practical sessions in Human Geography, Development Studies, Urban
and Regional Planning at Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels;
2. To supervise and mentor students , guiding them in their research
projects/theses and facilitating their academic and personal
growth;
3. To conduct cutting-edge research in the field of Urban and
Regional Planning, publish scholarly articles in reputable
journals and actively seek external research funding;
4. To provide academic leadership within the Department and
contribute to curriculum development, course design and programme
enhancement;
5. To collaborate with Colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary
research projects and initiatives;
6. To serve on Departmental and University committees, participate in
academic decision-making processes and contribute to the overall
development of the University as assigned by the Head of Department;
7. To undertake Consultancy Assignments; and
8. To engage in Community Outreach activities, fostering
collaborations with local organisations and promoting the
importance of Development Studies, Urban and Regional Planning in
Eswatini.
Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance and other benefits.
Expatriate Candidates
Initial Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, relocation expenses and other benefits.
