Qualification and Experience:

• At least a Master’s Degree in Food Science or equivalent.
• A PhD will be an added advantage.
• At least two (2) years working experience, especially in Meat Inspection.
• Experience in laboratory based research.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in teaching at Higher Education will be an added advantage.

Duties:

1. To teach courses in Environmental Health Science at Undergraduate level;
2.     To supervise students’ research and practicum;
3.     To conduct research in the discipline;
4.     To engage in Community Service;
5.     To undertake Consultancy Assignments as and when necessary; and
6. To perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates

Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.

Expatriate Candidates

Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
