Qualification and Experience:
  • An Undergraduate Degree with at least five (5) years working experience in Student Affairs administration in a tertiary institution.
  • A qualification and/ or experience in Counselling will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

  • A Master’s Degree in Student Administration or equivalent.
  • Evidence of experience in working in student administration will be an added advantage.
  • A qualification and/ or experience in Counselling will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Duties:
  1. To conduct orientation for new students at the beginning of the academic year;
  2. To be responsible for the general welfare of students at the University and also work closely with the Student Representative Council in this regard;
  3. To be responsible for overall student’s discipline;
  4. To be responsible for counselling and advising of students within the University;
  5. To work with the Student Representative Council in the organization of students’ activities like Africa day celebration and Intervarsity games, etc.;
  6. To represent the University in Government Scholarship Board;
  7. To co-ordinate all affairs between students and the University administration;
  8. To work our annual performance contracts for employees in the Student Affairs Department;
  9. To supervise the performance of each staff member within the Student Affairs Department and making appropriate annual recommendation to the Vice Chancellor;
  10. To develop policies and administrative structure for the Student Affairs Department;
  11. To constantly liaise with the Office of the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, the Bursar and other members of the University Administration and Academic departments so that student affairs problems do not accumulate to a crisis
  12. To carry out induction of the Student Representative Council on University regulations, SRC Constitution, disciplinary code and channels of communication within the University; and
  13. To perform any other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor from time to time.

 

 

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates Only

Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.
