Qualification and Experience:

• A PhD in Agricultural Extension and/or Rural Development or related field.

Duties:

1. To teach courses in Agricultural Education including but not limited to:

– Agricultural Extension;

– Life Long Learning in Agriculture;

– Agricultural Management and Supervision;

– Innovation Development and Application;

–  Environmental Education;

–  Programme Planning in Agriculture;

–   Monitoring and Evaluation;

–    Agricultural Knowledge Systems; and

–   Innovation and Technology Adoption.

2. To supervise Postgraduate and Undergraduate students’ research and

Entrepreneurship projects;

3. To conduct research in the discipline;
4. To undertake Administrative duties as may be assigned by the Head of  Department; and

5. To engage in Community Service.

 

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates

Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.

Expatriate Candidates

Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
