Qualification and Experience:
  • Diploma, preferably a Degree, in Building Studies/Structural Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Construction Management.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience as a Clerk of Works or comparable and relevant position.
  • Experience in Project Management and specifying materials and equipment for various capital and maintenance projects.
  • Knowledge of Construction methods, materials and Building Regulations.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety and building compliance in an educational setting.
  • Involved on project maintenance at the unit level.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

 

Duties:
  1. To collaborate closely with the Inspector of Works and Assistant Physical Planner;
  2. To develop and present an Annual Maintenance Plan Schedule with cost estimates;
  3. To monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications;
  4. To conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship and materials;
  5. To maintain daily work log and ensure all contractor works align with agreements;
  6. To prepare and submit progress reports to the Physical Planner;
  7. To act as liaison between service providers, contractors and the Physical Planner; and
  8. To perform other related duties as assigned by the Physical Planner.

Appointment Terms:

Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance.
