The Enactus UNESWA Luyengo Campus team is celebrating a huge win after being crowned the 2025 Enactus National Champions. They recently handed over their trophy to the Vice Chancellor following the competition, which was held on August 1, 2025, at the George Hotel in Manzini. The Luyengo team, mentored by Dr. B.P. Dlamini and Dr. D.V. Dlamini, also received the Team of the Year and CEO of the Year awards.
The University of Eswatini (UNESWA), with contributions from both the Luyengo and Mbabane campuses, was awarded the prestigious Institution of the Year award.
Winning Projects
UNESWA Luyengo Campus: Nutri-Plume Project The Luyengo team won the national championship with their project, Nutri-Plume, a waste management initiative that turns broiler chicken feathers into a sustainable organic fertilizer. This project is now a registered company, Nutri-Plume Eco-Solutions Pty Ltd, which has secured funding and a new warehouse. They also plan to expand into feather-stuffed clothing and pillows.
UNESWA Mbabane Campus: Lulama Chat The Mbabane Campus team, led and mentored by Dr. Murye A.F., was awarded the “Innovator of the Year” for their Lulama Chat project. Lulama Chat is an innovative digital platform that connects patients with professional counsellors and therapists, offering affordable and convenient mental health services. Patients pay only E50 for a one-hour session. The team also won the Makoya Tech Innovator of the Year award by MTN.
With these incredible victories, the Enactus UNESWA Luyengo team will represent Eswatini at the Enactus World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 25th to the 28th, 2025.
