UNESWA Hosts UPSCALE Experts Workshop
Kwaluseni – Since Tuesday, the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) has been honoured to host over 120 experts from across two continents at the Kwaluseni Campus for the UPSCALE Experts Workshop (EW2). This milestone gathering, which concludes tomorrow, brings together 128 global leaders dedicated to bridging the gap between higher education and the labour market. In a powerful address delivered today, Vice Chancellor Professor J.M. Thwala emphasized that graduate employability is now a central strategic priority, moving UNESWA beyond “producing certificates” to preparing industry-ready professionals. By implementing advanced graduate tracking systems and “dual career pathways,” the university is aligning its curriculum with Eswatini’s National Development Plan to directly combat youth unemployment. Supported by the European Union and partners from Spain, Poland, Slovenia, and Botswana, this initiative ensures that a UNESWA degree is not just an academic achievement, but a definitive pathway to economic opportunity and national growth.
