Mr. Bonginkosi Max Mkhonza as the new Registrar of the University
The University of Eswatini (UNESWA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Bonginkosi Max Mkhonza as the new Registrar of the University, effective 1 December 2025.
A proud UNESWA alumnus, Mr. Mkhonza returns to his alma mater as an experienced executive with extensive leadership exposure in a number of executive positions across both the public and private sectors having worked in a number of industries with a track record in corporate governance, institutional strategy, human capital management, and organisational transformation.
Mr. Mkhonza’s expertise in strategic renewal projects, systems reform, and performance culture development will be pivotal in strengthening the University’s governance and administrative efficiency as it embarks on a period of deep transformation.
“It is both a privilege and a profound responsibility to return to the University that shaped my own professional journey. I have no illusions about the magnitude of the task before us. The challenges are deep, complex, and long-standing. But I am confident that, through collaboration with Council, Management, Staff, and Students, and the support of the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini, we can rebuild UNESWA into a modern, efficient, and trusted national institution. This is a moment that calls for courage, humility, and collective resolve,” said Mr. Mkhonza.
