Qualification and Experience:

• An MSc in Textiles/ Textiles and Apparel Design OR Master of
Consumer Science in Clothing Management or any related qualification
for the Lecturer rank.
• A PhD in Textiles/ Textiles and Apparel Design OR a PhD in Consumer
Science in Clothing Management or related qualification for the
Senior Lecturer rank.
• Competence in the application of Computer Aided Designs in Apparel.

Duties:

1.To teach Textiles and Apparel Design courses including but not limited to
Pattern and Garment Technology;
2.To supervise and mentor students, guiding them in their research projects
and facilitating their academic growth;
3. To supervise students’ Field Attachment and Applied Entrepreneurship;
4. To conduct research in the discipline and collaborate with Colleagues to
contribute to interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives;
5. To undertake Administrative duties as may be assigned by the Head of
Department;
6. To undertake Consultancy Assignments; and
7.To engage in Community Outreach activities.

Appointment Terms:

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance and other benefits.

Expatriate Candidates
Initial Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment/Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, relocation expenses and other benefits.
